Working primarily in large-scale etched glass media for over thirty years, Orlando-based sculptor and educator Linda Hobby shifted her focus to the bronze medium in 2005. Hobby's glass works are characterized by movement and a surprising depth only captured via meticulous implementation of sandblasting techniques.

 

Her 3-dimensional bronze forms honor and explore the idolized female body. Hobby's sculptures are sensual yet powerful reflections on femininity; her models exude pride, dignity, elation, and freedom. Other works, such as her Homage to Arp, recall more ambiguous, abstract forms and nod to Neolithic Venus idols. ​
